Mexborough and Swinton Times, June 7, 1919
On Thursday afternoon at St. Margaret’s Church, Swinton, the Rev. Thomas Godfrey Rogers vicar of Hoyland Nether, second son of the Rev. and Mrs. F. E. Rogers, formerly of Littleport, Cambridge, was married to Miss Doris Steele, eldest daughter of the Rev. Charles Steele, NIA.; vicar of Swinton, and Mrs. Steele.
The ceremony was very beautiful and impressive, and the function, favoured by fine weather, was most picturesque. The commodious parish church was filled with spectators of the event, a great many parishioners assembling to witness the union of a bride and bridegroom who have close parochial associations with Swinton and are deservedly popular.
The bridegroom was ordained in the church in which he was married, his ordinations taking place in1910 and 1911, and he is, indeed, the only priest who has been ordained m this church.
