Amalgamation Scheme Reported “Off.”

It is understood that the Swinton Urban Council on Wednesday at a committee meeting for the discussion of the proposed amalgamation with Mexborough, definitely decided not to proceed with the matter.

There was practically a full attendance and only two members were in favour of going forward.

It also decided to abandon the conference arranged with Mexborough Council for further discussion.
