Letter From Monty

Miss Vera Fearn, “Rookwood,” Rockingham Road, Swinton, has received letters from General Montgomery and General Alexander thanking her for the letters she sent to them some weeks ago.

Miss Fearn, who sends many papers to men in the Forces every week, has a brother serving in the Navy, to whom she sends the “Times” every week.

Lawrence (20), who has recently been on leave, has been in the Navy 14 months.  Before joining up he worked at Messrs. Baker and Bessemer’s.  He is the son of Mrs. B. Fearn of 20 Carlisle Street, Kilnhurst.
