Private Farr,  Thomas Street, Swinton, was killed in action in France on October 11.

He was killed by a shell while acting as company runner.

He was 31 years of age and leaves a widow and five young children.

He enlisted in November, 1914, and went to France in 1916. Prior to that he had served in Gallipoli

Before enlistment he was employed at Manvers Main.
