Risky Bus Driving
Richard Bates, motor driver, of Swinton, was summoned at Doncaster on Tuesday for driving a bus in Mexborough without giving audible warning of his approach, on Monday, May 27.
PC Savage said he was at Barker’s corner at 2:30 PM on the day stated, when he saw defendant drive round two corners, one being John St.
Witness knew defendant would have to come round again, and waited. He swung round into West Street without sounding the horn. There was a good deal of traffic about, and a number of children playing in the street.
Defendant told the Bench he sounded the horn at the third corner.
The Clerk: There might have been an accident.
Defendant was fined 10 shillings.
