What’s In a Name?

When discussion arose at of Tuesday’s meeting of  Swinton Prime School  Managers over the pronunciation of an unusual surname, County Councillor M. Creighton, JP, remarked, amid laughter: Perhaps he’s like me. I am greeted ‘ Good morning, Mr Cree-ton, Cri-ton, Cray-ton.’ ”

For the benefit of those who remain in doubt, the correct pronunciation is the second one cited by County Coun. Creighton (Cri-ton).
