Sapper Eric Daykin, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Daykin, of 49, Crossland Street, Swinton, was married at Swinton Congregational Church on Saturday, to Miss Florence Lillian Wright, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Wright, of 234. Bridge Road, Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire.

Given away by her father, the bride wore white satin beaute with Elizabethan collar and silver girdle, tulle veil, with coronet of seed pearls, silver and diamante cross, a spray of red roses, and carried an ivory and silver prayer book.

She was attended by the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Audrey Daykin, in rose pink taffeta with a flowered head-dress and veil to match. She carried a silver prayer book and wore a spray of pink carnations. The bridegroom gave the bridesmaid a silver diamante bangle. The bride was presented at the church with silver horseshoes by Master Sydney Francis and Miss Doreen Fairbrass, both of Finchley, London. The best man was Mr. Kenneth Long, and the groomsman Mr. R. Daykin.

Among the gifts were a tea service from the staff of the Mexborough Employment Exchange, and an eiderdown from members of the Congregational Church.
