Housman, 125, Queen Street, Swinton, and Mr. Walter Fretwell, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Fretwell, 51, Beech Road Wath. The bride was given away by her father and had two senior attendants and two junior maids. She wore turquoise blue silk lace vouched with georgette, in Victorian style, and black picture hat, and carried a shower of cream tea roses.
Her senior maids Misses Dorothy Fretwell and Olive Housman, wore floral ninion with yellow the predominating shade. The juniors, Joan and Vivienne Housman, wore pink silk trimmed with blue rosebuds, poke bonnets and muffs. The maids bouquets were of yellow carnations.
Mr. Alan Childs was the best man and Mr. Francis Housman, groomsman. The gifts included a reclining chair from the staff of Wath Main Colliery, and a bedroom chair from the Sunday School teachers of the Parish Church.
The honeymoon is being spent at Bridlington, the bride travelling in a green costume with fawn jumper, and hat to tone.
