Lewis & Wixcey
At Swinton Parish Church. on Saturday. Miss Selina Jane Lewis. of 11, Crossland Street, Swinton, was married to Mr. Clifford James Wixcey, of Newport.
During the ceremony, which was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. T. G. Rogers, the hymns, “Lead as Heavenly Father” and “The voice that breathed o’er Eden,” were sung and suitable music played by Mr. A. Liversidge.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly dressed in a gown of Lido blue silk georgette, with hat to tone, and carried a shower bouquet of cream roses. She was attended by her two sisters. Misses Flo and Phyllis Lewis, who wore dainty dresses of pink floral georgette with hats to match and carried posies of pink and mauve sweet peas.
The best man was Mr. Harry Rider and the groomsman Mr. Leslie Elliott.
Afterwards a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Later Mr. and Mrs. Wixcey, who were the recipients of many useful and handsome gifts, left for a honeymoon touring the Scarborough district.
