Swinton’s Coronation Queen, Miss Edith Jackson, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jackson, Rowms Lane, Swinton, was married at St. Margaret’s Church last Thursday to Mr. William Thomas Knill, only son of Mr. and Sin. T. E. Knill, 23, Cadeby Avenue, Conanby, Conisbrough.
Given away by her father, the bride was attired in white satin beaute with heavily embroidered train, a veil held by white gardenias and a gold cross and chain.
Her bouquet was of white heather and pink carnations.
She was attended by Miss Catherine Teresa Vickers and Miss Mary Harrison and Miss Barbara Nixon. The bride was presented with a horse shoe by Ronald Moorhouse.
The best man was Mr. George Jackson, the bride’s brother and Mr. Colin Nixon, brother-in-law of the bride, was groomsman. The bridegroom is serving in the Navy. Among the gifts were several from the bride’s colleagues at the British Westfalite Works.
