At Swinton Parish Church on Saturday, the wedding took plate of Doreen Haigh, only daughter of Mr and Mrs. A Haigh, of 40, Wortley Avenue, Swinton, to Mr. Charles Henry Lockett, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Lockett of 99. Peashill Street, Rawmarsh.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a “Deanna Durbin” gown of white net with a hand-embroidered veil held with a head-dress of gardenias. She carried orchids and was attended by Miss Ivy Lockett in turquoise blue taffeta with a floral head-dress at velvet and Misses Nina and Dorothy Elliott and Miss Glenda Mennell in pink net over blue taffeta with caps and muffs to tone.
