Mr E Bostock (Swinton) and Miss L Hague (Mexborough)
The wedding took place at Mexborough Parish Church on Saturday of Miss Lucy Hague, second daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. G. Hague, of 12, Hall Gate. Mexboro’, and Mr. Ralph Bostock, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bostock, of 4, Highfleld Road. Swinton. The service was choral.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory lace over brocaded taffeta and net trimmed with gardenias. She wore a pearl cross. Her lace veil was surmounted by an orange blossom coronet and her bouquet was of lilies of the valley and gardenies.
Attending her were Mrs. K. Scothern, Miss Margaret Chapman and Miss Joan Hague in gowns of blue lace over brocaded taffeta and net with pink velvet sashes and hats. The two train bearers, Miss Freda Hague and Miss Mavis Jones, wore white net dresses with pink velvet sashes and head-dresses trimmed with pink flowers. All the attendants wore pink velvet mullet, pink shoes and sprays of lilies of the valley. They received silver identity bracelets from the bridegroom. L/AC. Among the wedding gifts was an oak table and work basket from the employees of the British Westfalite Company Company by whom the bride was employed, and a canteen of cutlery from colleagues of the bridegroom at Messrs. Baker and Bessemer, Ltd.. Kilnhurst.
