Swinton Bride in Lace and Net

Miss Dora Foss, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs, C. Foss, of 8, South Avenue, Swinton, was married on on Saturday at Swinton Parish Church to Mr. Horace Charles Atkin, elder son of NM and Mrs. J. F. Atkin, of 11. Mallory. Avenue, Rawmarsh. The Rev. N. Hill officiated.

Gwen away by her grandfather, Mr. A. E. Foss, this the bride was prettily attired in white lace and silk net crinoline, with silk net veil and large horse-shoes in each corner to form a matching head-dre.si. She carried red carnations.

The bride was attended by Misses Sheila Foss (sister) and Olive Burkinshaw, in lotus blue rayon crepe, sequin trimmed, and blue feathered head-dresses, and Miss Alma Fairclough, in white figured crepe. Each carried anemones. To the elder bridesmaids the bridegroom gave fully fashioned nylon stockings, and to the younger attendant a silver locket and chain.

The bride’s mother wore a brown tweed coat with toiling accessories, and the bridegroom’s mother chose a blue coat with accessories to match.

The best man was Mr Peter Morris, and the groomsman Mr Adrian Steed.

A reception was held at the bride’s home.
