South Yorkshire Times July 23, 1949

Two assistant Cub-masters of the 2nd Don and Dearne (Swinton) pack were married on Saturday at Swinton Parish Church, when the Rev. H. W. Quarrell, Vicar, officiated at the wedding of Miss Eileen Mary Cooper, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Cooper, 29, Manor Road, Swinton, and Mr. Malcolm Thomas, second son of Mrs. E. Thomas and the late Mr. D. Thomas, 21, Hameline Road, Conisbrough.

Wearing a white lace gown cut on classical lines with a full length veil and wreath of orange blossom, the bride was given away by her father. She carried red roses.

She was attended by Misses Betty Cooper, Yvonne Tonks and Monic Martin, in floral taffeta with bur Fundy velvet trimmings and anemone head-dresses, and Miss Ann Sharp, in white lace with pink and blue trimmings.

The bridesmaids carried anemones, and Miss Sharp pink carnnations.

Best man was Mr. B. W. Thomas and groomsmen Mr. A. Cooper and Mr. F. A. Hudson.

After the service a guard of honour was formed outside the Church by cubs of the 2nd Don and Dearne (Swinton) pack, under the command of Cubmaster Mrs. R. Cobb.
