The wedding took place at St. Margaret’s Church on Saturday of Miss Irene Coates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Coates, of 30, Charles Street, Swinton, and Mr. Fred Cawood, son of Mr. C. Cawood and the late Mrs. Cawood of 3, Charles Street, Swinton.

The Rev. K. F. Kinns officiated.

The bride, who, was given away by her father, was attired in white satin with an overgown of lace. She carried pink tulips zed mimosa. Her attendants were Misses May Coates, Edna Coates, S. Cawood, S. Cawood, and a small maid was Beryl Cawood.

Two of the bridesmaids were attired in green with coronets and veils to tone, two in mauve with matching coronets and veils, and the small attendant was in blue and carried a silver horseshoe. The older marls carried daffodils and fern. The bridegroom’s gifts to the bridesmaids were manicure sets.

The best man was Mr. F. Ilanwell and the groomsman, Mr. G. H. Coates, junr. The bride’s mother sore a black figured dress with hat and shoes to tone, and a reception was held by the bride’s parents at the Station Hotel. Among the many wedding gifts were a fire-side chair and electric iron from colleagues at Messrs. Baker end Bessemer’s works, Kilnhurst, where the bride was formerly employed
