Miss Hilda Mary Flavell, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Flavell, of ” Holm-Garth,” Piccadilly Road. Swinton, was married at Swinton Bridge Street Methodist Church on Monday to Corporal M. Chappell, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Chappell, 9. Manor Road, Swinton.
The service was choral. The bride, given away by her father, wore embossed crepe cut on classical lines, with a veil of embroidered silk net and carried red carnations. She was attended by her sister. Miss N. Flavell, in sea-blue satin, and Miss M Flavell in pink taffeta and net. The former carried pink carnations and the latter anemones. The bridegroom gave Miss N. Flavell a handbag, and Miss M. Flavell a necklet.
The best man was Mr. T. Willey, and the groomsmen were Messrs. R. Flavell and W. Flavell. The honeymoon is being spent at Blackpool, the bride travelling in a blue check coat with navy accessories.
