“Walk-Round Fairyland”
Swinton Red Cross Effort

Misses Gwen and Joyce Lines successfully produced in the Church Hall, Swinton, on Saturday the “Walk-Round Fairyland” in aid of Swinton Red Cross.
The children who took part were well trained. “Winter Revels,” as the stage scene was entitled, showed four girls in a sledge coming down a hill covered with snow. There were many other scenes and 45 children took part. They were: “Winter Revels” (G. Lines, B. Housman, W. Ingham, and M. Charity). “Fairy Palace” (M. Wilkinson, M. Lowcock, B. Hill, D. Whaley, J. A. Benison),” Sleeping Beauty” (M. Good, J. Goddard), “Toy Band” (K. Teet, A. Hill, C. Morley, M. Simpson, J. Thompson, D. Longstaff), “Nursery Rhyme Family” (V. Chapman, B. Dunstan, A. Currier, P. Frost, H. Clarkson), “Christmas Party” (M. Farrier, O. Pask, R. Pask), “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (J. Newton, P Goddard, C. Brown, M. Immisson, M. Eyre, P. Farrier, C. Myers, K. Reader, M. Scholes), “Cinderella” (D. Good, J. Myers), “Brownie Land” (J. Baldwin, A. Percival, A. Carlin), “Babes in the Wood” (C. Baldwin, A. Large, P. Immisson, M. Hollock and P. Lane), Captain Tyas acted as “Father Christmas”. Each child present received a small gift.
