Sisters are first class

Two Swinton sisters have gained first class passes in the London College of Music’s piano playing preparatory examination, which they took in Rotherham last December.

Thirteen-year-old Patricia Connolly, a pupil at Swinton Comprehensive School and her 12-year-old sister, Diane Clare, who attends Mexborough Grammar School have only been playing the piano for two years.

They play the piano “just for pleasure” according to Patricia who told the “South Yorkshire Times” this week, “we both get a lot of pleasure out of playing and spend many hours each week practising.”

The sisters plan to take another musical examination in July.

Hoping to follow their successes in verse-speaking, sisters Patricia (13) and Diane (12) Connolly, of “Sandown”, Highcliffe Drive, Swinton, have now taken up piano lessons and have recently passed their first examinations.
