Swinton

Mr T Beighton

Has represented Kilnhurst for a number of years, and taken a leading part in most of the activities of that part of the urban district.

Has done particularly notable work on pensions committees and other organisations for the assistance of ex-Service men. Has presided over the Council’s housing department latterly and rendered distinguished service in that sphere of local administration.

Labour member.

 

 

 

Mexborough

Mr Vincent Wragg

In his sixth year of membership. Has given special attention to the work of the allotments and electricity departments, of both of which committees he has been chairman.

Member of the executive of the Barnburgh branch of theĀ  Y.M.A., which he represents on Montagu Hospital Board.

Been connected with Labour party for several years.

 

 

 

 

Thurnscoe

Mr Arthur Bramham

Has been acting chairman since the resignation in August of Mr. J. Stone. He has lived in Thurnscoe for 24 years and taken throughout that time an active interest in public affairs.

It is his fifth year on the Council. He has been auditor of Thurnscoe West Club for ten years. Independent member.

 

 

 

 

 

Wath

Mr Marcus R. Swift

An old. Member of the Council who has also done considerable work on the numerous constituent authorities of the Dearne Valley, including hospital and gas boards.

A butcher.

Independent member.

 

 

 

 

 

Darfield

Mr Arthur Ward

Has been “first lieutenant” to Aid. T. H. Foulstone for two years. A miner at Darfield Main and in his ninth year of membership of the Council.

Has done specially useful work as chairman of the Lighting Committee.
