Swinton Women’s Hockey Team
Congratulations to the women’s hockey team, who have again won the Sheffield Association Challenge Cup, and we hope to have the pleasure of paying the team a further compliment when they become League champions for the second year in succession.
There are four outstanding games, and with a lead of several points they are almost sure of the honour. Individually they are accomplished players, as is proved by the regular inclusion of as many as four of them in representative games, but their success is due to their team work.
Their play is pleasant to watch, and it is hoped that it will be possible to keep the team together for several years. All the members are teaching in the district, but are drawn from various parts of Great Britain, and their choice of Swinton as a centre is a tribute to the Athletic Club.
