Swinton Woman’s Death.

Found Hanging in Outhouse.

Mr. Kenyon Parker held an inquest in the Swinton Library on Monday on Mary Ann Hallett (58), who was found on Saturday hanging in an outhouse at her home, 41, Rockingham road, Swinton. The discovery was made by her daughter-in-law, Edith Ellen Bartrop. of Rawmarsh, at about 4 p.m. Mrs. Hallett was last seen alive by Raymond Thompson, of Pottery Farm, who saw her in the yard of the house.

Evidence was given by the husband. Geo. William Hallatt. Mrs. Dartrep, Mr. Thompson. P.c. Oldfield, and Dr Lee.

The evidence showed that Mrs. Hallett had recently suffered a good deal with pains in the head and had special treatment. She was told she had a clot of blood on the brain. Dr. Lee. who made a post-mortem examination, said Mrs. Hallett was in good health except for the clot of blood.

The Coroner found that Mrs. HaIlatt “committed suicide by hanging herself while suffering from a clot of blood on the brain.”
