Workmen Who Won’t Work.
At the monthly meeting of the Swinton Urban Council, Mr. John Siddall, chairman of the Sanitary Committee, complained strongly the insanitary condition of the township, and said the scavengers should be appealed to to give a reasonable day’s work for a fair day’s pay.
Mr. Tillotson said the Council had met the men fairly as to wages, and were willing at all times to do the right thing, but they could not get the work out of the men.
After the monthly meeting of the Swinton Urban Council, the members were entertained to dinner in the Council offices the chairman, Mu. C. W. H. Peat, in celebration of the armistice
