Swinton U.D.C Elect Coun. F. Tingle

Annual Meeting.

Swinton council members at their annual meeting on Monday voted unanimously for the election of Coun. Frank Tingle, an independent member, as chairman for the ensuing year. The appointment was made on the proposition of Coun. F. C. Myers and Coun. W. H. Hudson seconded.

“I thank you very much for the unaminous vote,” said Councillor Tingle after his election, “and all I can say is that I am looking forward to your cooperation, and I shall endeavour to maintain that high dignity that has been set by my predecessors.”

Coun. Hudson was elected vice chairman. The chairman of the various committees were elected as follows: – finance: Coun. M. Creighton; building and highways: Coun. F. J. Wilkinson; lighting: Coun S. A. Staples; water: Coun. W. H. Hudson; health: Coun. F. C. Mysers.
