Swinton Old People Help Lifeboatmen
Swinton’s Retired Persons’ Group, which celebrates its first anniversary this month, saw their chairman, Mr. B. W. Law, present a cheque for £20 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, during Wednesday’s meeting at Swinton Comprehensive School.
Mr. T. Thirlwell accepted the cheque on behalf of the Institute. The money was raised at a bring and buy sale organised by the retired persons at the school last month. The proceeds of the sale are to be entirely devoted to charity and a further cheque is to be sent to the Red Cross.
