Presentation to Mr. G. C. Wright

By Swinton Nursing Association

Mr. G. C. Wright, who retired at the end of July as Manager of the National Provincial Bank at Swinton, was on Monday presented with a pipe and tobacco pouch in recognition of his 16 years’ service as treasurer for or the Swinton Nursing Association.

The presentation was made on behalf of the Association committee by Mrs. H. E. Kershaw who spoke appreciatively of Mr Wright’s work for the Association and hoped he and Mrs. Wright would enjoy their new life and new home in Dawlish, South Devon.

Mr. Wright said he had enjoyed every minute of his work as treasurer. It had been a nice change coming from the bottom of Swinton to the Association’s meeting at the top of Swinton where he could “see a few trees.”  He was leaving the town with very many regrets, he added.
