Swinton Hit Out
Big Win over Mexborough

Mexborough were outplayed in the rearranged match at Swinton on Monday. Swinton scored at the Mary rate of two runs a minute.

Alan Thompson with a bit of luck, passed the half centre by some pretty shots on both sides of the wicket. He 7 fours and two sixes.

But the finest bit bit of batting of the evening was an innings of a little more than 30 minutes duration by Price (picture) which produced 49 runs. He give no chance and got 33 runs with eight beautiful effortless stroke to the boundary – three sixes and five fours.

The Swinton bowling and fielding were in sharp contrast to Mexborough’s; Mexborough rather slack in the field. But for the devil may care hitting of Eric Brook, which three great sixes, they would have been out inside an hour for less than half Swinton’s total of 189 for 7.

Pearson took the wickets of the two Burkinshaw’s with consecutive balls, hitting the stumps on both occasions.
