Swinton Engine Driver Killed

On Thursday morning, while loading coal on to his engine tender at the Wath Concentration Yard, Louis Oliver (58) of Rowms, lane, Swinton, an engine driver on the Great Central Railway, overbalanced and fell from the waggon to the ground.

He was seriously injured and died before medical attention could be obtained.

He leaves a widow and four children.
