At an inquest was held on Gertrude Jowett (22), 6, Prince Street, Swinton, munition worker, whose body was recovered from the canal at Swinton on Friday.

A verdict of Suicide following depression caused by influenza was returned.

William Bartle of Chapel Street, Wath Road. Swinton, has been missing from his home for several days. His coat and cap have been found the canal hank near the glassworks Swinton, and the police have been dragging the water.
