Mr G D B Gray, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Gray, of 66, Queen St, Swinton, has recently had a book published entitled “Soviet Land.”

The book is a comprehensive non political account of the USSR and its people. Mr Gray has travelled in Russia and was in Russia when war broke out. An edition of the book for schools has been published.

Mr Gray is an old boy of Mexborough Grammar School, where he won a miners welfare scholarship and went on to King’s College, London University, where he obtained degrees in geography and geology.

He is now senior lecturer in geography at Leavesden Green Training College, and was former senior geography master at Acton County Grammar School, London.

Another book which Mr Gray has had published is a pictorial survey of the USSR.
