Picture shows 14-year-old Brian Parkes, of Hatherley Road. Swinton, who recently beat 130 competitors to win the British Legion juvenile angling contest at Brigg.

Brian’s catch of 1lb. 9 ¾ ozs. was nearly 1lb. in front of the next competitor.

He received a wristlet watch, medal and a large shield, of which he is the holder for the next 12 months.
