No Match for Swinton
Swinton 97 for 2 Rockingham 96
Rockingham were no match for Swinton, at Swinton, on Saturday, where they were defeated by eight wickets, Batting first they scored slowly and their lack of confidence lost them many wickets. Fisher and Ivill both went cheaply and all their team mates with the exception of Moxon (21), Walker (19) and Vickers (15), faded to reach double figures. Vickers and Moxon brightened things a little with a ninth wicket stand, to make a total of 96. The wickets fell to Ellis (5 for 37). Ellison (4 for 40), and Briscoe (1 for 10).
Bedford, opening for Swinton, carried on throughout the innings to score 56 not out. Broadhead went for 9, bowled by Vickers, and Barnett had not scored when he was run out with 23 on the board. Bedford found a good partner in Parkin (23 not out) and together they went on to get the runs.

Denaby (C Pegg 38 not out) were dismissed for 135, W. Truswell taking 4 for 48 and B. Higham 4 for 40. A second wicket partnership from 19 to 89 by K. Eades (37) and W.
