Swinton 207 for 7  South Kirkby 133

Swinton brought off a very smart victory at the expense of South Kirkby, on the Swinton ground. Swinton, for the second Saturday in succession, were in a position to declare, with 207 for 7, but they nearly left the declaration too late for the last Kirkby wicket fell ten minutes before time.

Charlie Reader gave a brilliant display for 72 not out, and Ernest Elliott, who is gradually rediscovering his form, scored 43. Arthur Birks and Joe Jenkinson also batted soundly.

South Kirkby batted sturdily, but were gradually overcome, and were dismissed for 133.
