Swinton Lose After Batting Well
York’s Win Under Time Limit Conditions
After Swinton had scored 165 for 6 wickets in their match with York on Monday, which was played under time limit conditions, York lost seven wickets in passing the total with ten minutes to spare.
Denton (33), Willoughby (49 not out) and Machin (36 not out) did well with the bat for Swinton.
York fared badly at the opening of their innings and Tommy Hart clean bowled Hobson when he had only scored 15. Hart also had Curry’s wicket when the York batsman had only a dozen runs to his credit and Cutts bowled Harrison before he had reached double figures. Dalby and Chilman pulled the game round for York, the former scoring 44 and the latter being unbeaten for 61 when the Swinton total was passed.
