Cadman Sensation Was Matchwinner at Swinton
Swinton 119 Denaby 105
Swindon had a hard struggle with Denaby at Swinton on Saturday before they won the game by 14 runs.
Swinton’s innings closed at 118 with Kay Bacon taking 4 for 34 and Cory four for 47.
Denaby’s innings opened disastrously. Wigmore sent down some good fast stuff and had two wickets when the score was 11 for three. Cadman, at the other end, bowled a good length, and these two seem to have Denaby on the run but at 35 for five. Swinton suffered a blow when Wigmore had to retire injured when fielding a ball in the slips. Shepard and Kay Bacon looked as though they were going to win the game for Denaby when they took the score from 51 for 6 to 96 for 7, when Baker was caught on the boundary.
Denaby still had a good chance to win, but when the score reached 105 there was a sensation.
Cadman (picture) took the three remaining wickets that are run been added, and Swinton and won the game.
As for Swinton, Cannonball 19 overs, had 8 maidens and took five for 34. Wigmore had three for 29 and Kerry two for 22.
