Swine Fever Regulations. – Swinton Men in Trouble.
Two Swinton men, named Richard Robinson and Tom Lupton, were summoned at the West Riding Police Court, at Rotherham, on Monday, for a breach of the Swine Fever Order.
The Supt. said that under an Order issued by the Diseases of Animals’ Committee, dating from the 1st July, no one could bring swine into that district, and on the 17th Nov. the two defendants purchased some swine at Haxey, and removed them to Swinton. It was afterwards found that they were developing symptoms of swine fever.
From enquiries the two men were seen.
The Supt. believed the men had acted in complete ignorance of the law.
Fined 20s. and costs each.
