Frank Bee, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bee, of 35, Church Street, Swinton, recently gained the National Diploma awarded by National Agricultural Examination Board. He is 22, and commenced his education at Swinton National School, gaining a Council scholarship which took him to Mexborough Secondary School for three years.

On leaving school he went to the farm of his uncle, Mr. A. Fillingham, at Wickersley. While he was there Mr. Bee won the West Riding County Council’s scholarship to the Institute of Agriculture at Moulton, Northampton, and there be gained the Institute’s certificate which enabled him to continue his studies at Leeds University. While at Leeds he played in the University’s hockey team, and he was there three years. He next hopes to take a diploma for dairy work.
