Crossland Brothers
Three brothers, the sons of Mr and Mrs Job Crossland, of Church Street, Swinton, have been recently wounded.
Driver Alfred Crossland (K.O.Y.L.I.), who enlisted in September 1914, went to France the following day, was wounded on February 29 and is now in hospital in Kent. His injuries unfortunately include the loss of an eye. He is 28 years of age.
Private E Crossland (York and Lancs) also enlisted in September 1914, and went to France in May 1915. He was wounded in the shoulder on April 4, 1916, and was now sufficiently recovered to return to France. He is 25 years of age.
Private E Crossland (York and Lancs) enlisted in November 1914, and went to France in the following June. You’ll be wounded in the right leg and is now in hospital in Birmingham. Use 31 years of age.
All the brothers are single, and before enlistment worked at Thrybergh Hall.
