Soldier – Wright G.C. – Personal

December 1942

South Yorkshire Times – Saturday 26 December 1942

Personal.

Captain G. C. Wright, M.C., D.C.M., of The East Yorkshire Regiment, has been compelled to relinquish his commission on account of ill-health. However, his friends in the Swinton district will be pleased to know he is now making a good recovery and hopes to resume his duties as manager of Swinton branch of the National Provincial Bank, Ltd., early in January.

Captain Wright was in the Territorial Reserve, and was called up on the outbreak of war but was released for about six months to continue his duties at the bank. He then rejoined his regiment, and in all has had 2 ½ year’s service in this war, in addition to serving through the Great War.
