Private Winrow, formerly a police constable stationed at Piccadilly, Swinton has died of wounds received in September 18.

Private Winrow enlisted in the Loyal North Lancs Regiment at the outbreak of war. He went to France in 1916, and was wounded last May when he returned to England for a few weeks.

He returned to France in August, was transferred to the Royal Engineers. He was mortally wounded on September 18 and died on his way to a casualty clearing station.

He was unmarried, and a native of Preston. He was well known and esteemed in the Swinton district.
