Swinton Soldier Killed.
This a photograph of Private Alfred Wilson, son of the late Mr. Albert Wilson, and Mrs Harvey, of 261, Queen Street, Swinton, who, formerly reported missing, is now reported as having been killed in action on or between April 15-17, 1918.
Private Wilson was formerly employed at the Manvers Main Colliery, and enlisted in the South Lancs. Regt. in September, 1914, having served with the 10th and 7th Battalions of that Regiment.
He was twice wounded, and on proceeding to France for the third time in March last year, was transferred to the 19th Battalion D.L.I.
