Officer Missing

Mr. and Mrs. A. Waldron, “Rose Vale,” 40, Warren Vale Road, have received news that their only son Lieut. Arthur Waldron, of the Royal Fusiliers, was reported missing in the Central Mediterranean on May 12th. Lieut. Waldron, who is 25, joined the Army four years ago.

He was promoted to Lance Corporal and was commissioned shortly before going abroad two years ago.  He has served in East Africa and Egypt.

Going from Swinton Fitzwilliam School to Mexborough Secondary School, he gained Higher School Certificate and entered Borough Road Training College with a view to taking up teaching, completing his course there before joining the Forces.
