Escape After Capture

L.Cpl. John Vickers (24) only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Vickers, 80, Manor Road, Swinton was among 20 men of his regiment who were captured by the Italians when Tobruk fell, but six hours later they broke away and rejoined their regiment.

L/Cpl. Vickers is at home after four years abroad, having been in the fighting at Knightsbridge, El Alamein, Mareth and elsewhere.
