16, White Lea Rd, Swinton has died of wounds received in action.

His friend wrote before his death, telling his parents he was wounded and also saying that before he left the trenches he said:

“I wish you are wounded so we could go back to Blighty together.”

He was the only son of Mr and Mrs William Taylor, and was 22 years of age.

Prior to enlistment he was a clerk at Aldwarke G.C.R.station.

He enlisted in January 1916 and went to France six months ago.
