Sergeant Edward Smith

of the Duke of Wellington Regiment was killed in action on July 5th in the Great Advance.

Sergeant Smith formerly worked at the Warren Vale Colliery.

His brothers, Sergeant Joe Smith (Footballers Battalion) and Sergeant W Smith (musketry instructor) at Clipstone, are up to the present in good health
