Private John Price

We regret to learn that Private John Price (Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry), a New York journalist who came over with the Canadian contingent, and married, comparatively recently, Miss Christina Tyas of “Claremont,” Station Street, Swinton, has been killed in action.

His Wife has received from her husband’s platoon commander a letter of sympathy, in which he says:

“He was to us just what we wish are meant to be; a good, steady, reliable soldier, and he leaves a big gap to fill.”

A comrades writes:

“He died a true soldier, facing the enemy”

Mrs Price is a sister of Second Lieutenant M Tyas (York and Lancs) who is now on sick furlough, having been “gassed” in France
