In Prison Camp

L/Cpl William Powell (22), son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Powell of 6, Wilson Street, Mexborough, has spent the last two years in Stalag 21a, Germany.

L/Cpl Powell, who worked at Manvers Main Colliery as a haulage hand before joining the Forces, was taken prisoner in France.

He is at present working on a farm and is putting on weight. Parcels and letters reach him and he has had a few parcels from the Red Cross.

L/Cpl Powell’s wife is now in the A.T.S.
