Private Pilley, 21 Fitzwilliam St, Swinton, was killed in action on August 26, after nearly 4 years service.

He was only 20 years of age, and enlisted as a youth in October 1914.

His death occurred as a West Riding Field ambulance.

His photo will be printed next week.
