A native of Swinton, L.A.C. Fred Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Palmer, of 35, Charles Street, Swinton, has been serving in the R.A.F. as a fitter since the outbreak of war.

He is an old boy of the Fitzwilliam School, and formerly worked at Messrs. Baker and Bessemers’ as an apprentice fitter and turner.

His father served for four years in the York and Lancaster Regiment in the last war.
