Mr. Harry Oliver, of Chapel street, Swinton, has been officially notified that his brother,  Private Walter Oliver , who formerly lived with him, was killed in action in France on Oct. 4.

Pte Oliver was 40 years of and had. been serving since June, 1916.

Previously he was a farm labourer, and in earlier life served with the K.O.Y.L.I. in the Regular Army.
