Swinton Soldier Wounded
Private W Meggitt, Swinton
(9th York & Lancs)
Private W Meggitt, 9th York and Lancs, has been wounded.
In a card message to his wife, his captain says: “Meggitt received gunshot wounds in theĀ neck, and was transferred to Lahore Military Hospital.”
Since then he has been sent to Colchester Hospital.
Private Meggitt’s brother in law, Gunner W Moore, R.F.A., is on active service in India.
Private Meggitt’s wife and four children are resident in Church Street, Swinton.
